GRIDfactor

Traditionally, distribution utility reliability indicators such as SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, CAIFI and MAIFI have been used to measure reliability of power supply to end users. However, no such indicators exist for measuring overall performance of the electric system that combines various measures such as system reliability, asset utilization, system stresses and loading level. GRIDfactor provides such a measure. GRIDfactor is measured between a scale -5 to +5 with 0 being the ideal value. A negative GRIDfactor value indicates an over built and under utilized system, whereas a positive value indicates an underbuilt and over utilized system.

GRIDview product uses information collected from various utility systems to calculate GRIDfactor.

Products GRIDplan, GRIDops and GRIDassets help utilities improve GRIDfactor.
